Did you know?

Septicity in a sewage system occurs when microorganisms use up all the dissolved oxygen and nitrates in the sewage. Without oxygen, anaerobic conditions develop, and bacteria reduces the organic compounds to Sulphur and sulphide. Then sulphate-reducing bacteria utilise sulphates to form sulphides. This results in foul odours and corrosion of the concrete pipes and mortar joints due to hydrogen sulphide.

The activity of micro-organisms which form sulphide can be inhibited by a range of organic chemicals, in this case we use calcium nitrate. However, to be effective it needs to be added continuously. Our factory-built dosing rig does just that! This standalone septicity treatment rig continuously doses calcium nitrate into the affected sewage area.
