Purposeful Volunteering

A team of 6 Lintott colleagues (pictured above left to right: Josh Blowers; Jamie Thums; Deb Scott; Elaine Woodrow; Nicholas Rice; & Dave Crouch) delivered an assortment of food & toiletries (donated by Lintott employees) to Norwich Foodbank. The team also spent the morning helping to pick & prepare food parcels. Lintott COO, Jamie Thums posted (on social media) that it “was a sobering reminder that too many people are locked in poverty” & he praised the “amazing” work of The Trussell Trust & supporters.

Lintott is steadfast in its objectives to have a positive impact in the community & on creating a lasting legacy.  Since the launch of the Company’s Community Engagement Programme (2015) over 315 community events have been undertaken (equating to 167 days). Lintott showcases “Lean” expertise

Once again, Lintott’s People Manager, Ellie Woodrow, was delighted to host a cohort of engineering undergraduates from West Suffolk College [“WCS”]. The visit was organised by WSC teaching staff to provide students with a real-life implementation & experience of change management & successful Lean transition.

The visit began with Lintott COO, Jamie Thums, providing a detailed presentation of the Company’s change journey. This included an overview of how Lean-based (continuous improvement) tools have been deployed & championed by Lintott’s workforce. Jamie also discussed how the Company’s digitisation strategy, which fuses products, processes, people & places, sought to differentiate the Company & importantly, provide its client’s with an Industry-leading solution. The event concluded with a tour of the facility as well as a questions & answers session.

Following the visit, West Suffolk College Lecturer, Alex Elliot, commented; “The students found it to be highly valuable and Jamie’s presentation was particularly convincing, contextualising much of their theoretical delivery. A very valuable engagement for us and we are very grateful for the opportunity and ongoing support over the last 3 years, thank you.”

Outstanding Team Performance & Recognition!

On a recent scheme for Thames Water, Lintott Control Systems provided a system upgrade replacing an existing Orthophosphoric Acid Dosing System. This involved utilising Lintott’s temporary dosing system whilst the existing system was decommissioned and the new dosing arrangement installed and commissioned over 5 different sites.

Martin Tooley, Lead Project Engineer for Thames Water praised the Lintott Engineering, Manufacturing and Site team, stating – “As a team they worked exceptional well and ensured that the projects were delivered safely, professionally, to the highest standard, on time and come hell or high water”

Lintott’s Director of Engineering, Andy Whilding commented – “This is excellent feedback – it is always great when customers take time out to praise good work.”

100% clean sweep again, but the hard work goes…

The Achilles UVDB auditing process involves a rigorous external inspection of an organisations Management System (that is how the entity conducts its operations & collaborates with the supply community) & an ‘Onsite Assessment’ (which assesses local procedures & practices).  Both elements involve a detailed assessment against key criteria against the headlines of Quality, Health & Safety, Environment, & Corporate Social Responsibility).  Lintott is delighted, for the second consecutive year & the fourth occasion in its history, to score 100% in each criterion part.

UVDB (Utilities Vendor DataBase) is the Utility Industry’s pre-qualification system, used by procuring organisations to monitor & maintain standards.  For Lintott’s valued clients, this serves as key peace of mind.  For Lintott, the exercise is an essential component of its value-adding benchmarking & continuous improvement programme.

The hard work continues….
