Lintott delivers its first Digital Twin

What is a Digital Twin?  Put simply, it is the creation a highly complex virtual model that is the exact counterpart (or twin) of a physical entity.  The ‘entity’ could be a car, a tunnel, a bridge, a jet engine, or in Lintott’s case, a factory-built product such as a dosing or UV disinfection system.

As part of expanding Lintott’s disruptive & award winning digital eco-system, its Digital Delivery & Engineering functions have been spearheading a digital twin development environment to host factory built assemblies – as featured below:

Some of the primary benefits associated with a digital twin include:

  • The ability to visualise a product / process whilst in use (in real time);
  • Connecting disparate systems & fuelling traceability;
  • The ability to redefine assumptions via predictive analytics;
  • Troubleshooting geographically remote plant & equipment.

This project has shown, once again, Lintott’s creative & pioneering mindset & how the Company is focused on continually enhancing its value proposition.  Watch this space for an update, but if you can’t wait, please contact media@lintottcs.co.uk for more information.

Shape the World – Celebrating International Women in Engineering…

It is a fact that Industry is facing a skills crisis & more engineers & technicians are required to help stoke creativity & the economy. Lintott therefore holds the view that it is vital for businesses, learning institutions & other partners to work collaboratively to inspire future generations to forge a career in a STEM-based (science, technology, engineering & mathematics) profession.

Led by Lintott’ parent, nmcn Plc, the overall business has committed to engaging with at least 5,000 children & young people by 2025. Aligned with this, nmcn has produced its first-ever children’s story book. “When I grow up” takes the reader through the journey of twins, “Harry” & “Amy”, who are considering their future vocations as part of their school careers day competition. The book is aimed at Key Stage 1 & includes a range of engineering activities which aims to inspire young minds! This fits neatly with Lintott’s localised programme.

The Company is steadfast in its commitment to promoting both STEM (within schools & colleges) as well as celebrating & promoting diversity within the workplace. This week, Lintott is delighted to once again, celebrate the outstanding achievements of women engineers throughout the world! International Women in Engineering Day 2020 is on 23rd June, & is aptly themed “Shape-The-World”. Since the Day was launched in 2014, the event has grown enormously, to the point where it received UNESCO patronage in 2016.

Harnessing both the promotion of STEM as well as celebrating International Women in Engineering Day, Anna Hinson (Business Assurance Manager & STEM Ambassador) presented Tasha McCord (Year 4 School Teacher) of Angel Road Junior School located in Norwich with package of “When I grow up” books & STEM career information resources (including curriculum linked lesson plans; posters demonstrating exciting career opportunities; & information leaflets describing different areas of engineering & the various routes into the sector).

Lintott has a team of Mental Health First Aiders, Mental Health Champions & RSPH Workplace Health Champions (in addition to external provision). All have been externally trained & are ready to help colleagues with guidance, support and sign-posting.  For more information please contact the Company’s Business Assurance Team (via businessassurance@lintottcs.co.uk).

Getting ready for ‘shaping the world’!

Lintott is proud to #ShapeTheWorld by supporting ‘International Women in Engineering Day’ (which is on 23rd June 2020)!

In 2017, National Women in Engineering Day became international for the first time due to the interest and enthusiasm developed by the international audience and participants in the previous years.
